REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
The First Unitarian Church of St. Louis is now accepting applications from St. Louis area nonprofits for grants from its First Church Community Fund (FCCF). For 34 years, microgrants from the Fund have supported non-sectarian, direct service, social action projects in the St. Louis community.
Approximately $7500 is available for individual grants of typically $750 or less. The FCCF committee remains most interested in supporting programs or projects that address issues of homelessness, poverty, and marginalized populations in the metro St. Louis area, and, particularly, St. Louis City.
In determining grants, the FCCF committee considers the following: level of need, effectiveness of the proposed response, service area and demographics, possibilities for financial leverage, involvement of community volunteers, and visibility. Smaller agencies/organizations directly providing services to clients and without major sources of funding are given priority.
Proposals, of a maximum length of three (3) pages, should include:

Brief (one page or less) description including: how long the organization has existed, its mission or work, target population, geographic area and number of clients served annually

Size of current staff (including number of paid staff and role of volunteers)

Need proposed grant will address and population served. (Please be specific regarding the estimated number of individuals to benefit from the proposed program or service)

How funds will be utilized, and how program or project effectiveness is evaluated (max. one page)
