COVID-19 Task Force Update 6/5/22

Printer-friendly version

The COVID task force is continuing to monitor the COVID situation in the community. We are aware that some of you may be uneasy about the rising case numbers and risk levels, and others may feel that they are ready to resume normal life given the seemingly unending presence of the virus. We continue to try to balance our congregation's need for community with the desire to protect and include those who are most vulnerable. We also understand that people are making choices in their everyday lives, balancing their personal needs and comfort regarding acceptable risks, and in general it is appropriate for them to do that in regard to church activities as well. At this time we are not recommending any changes to our policies - continuing to meet in person with unlimited capacity, but maintaining a mask requirement for services. Coffee hour will continue to be available for those who are comfortable socializing with people who may be unmasked. We do recommend that you wear a mask during coffee hour when not eating or drinking.

We would also like to remind everyone to please stay home if you are not feeling well. If you are diagnosed with COVID you should isolate for a minimum of 5 days (and until you are fever-free for 24 hrs without the use of fever reducing medication), and continue to wear a mask for a total of 10 days. If you have close contact with someone with COVID, you should get tested ~ 5 days later and wear a mask for 10 days. Here is a handy calculator for what to do if you are diagnosed or have close contact: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/quarantine-isolation.html#.

We wish you all an enjoyable and healthy summer, and hope to see you at church!
