Yes - Water Communion is on! You can participate in two ways:
First, we may be continuing online services, but it doesn't mean we lose all our traditions. However, it does mean we have to adapt them. So that we may share our actual waters, the church is hosting a "drive by" water communion. Come through the church parking lot on the days / times listed below and pour your water into our communal bowl. We'll record you doing it and edit all the recordings together to be shared on September 13th.
Tuesday, September 1st 12 - 1 pm
Friday, September 4th 5 - 7 pm
Saturday, September 5th 11 am - 1 pm
Tuesday, September 8th 12 - 1 pm
Second, we know that many of you didn't travel this summer, but that doesn't mean you can't participate! Share the water from a kiddie pool in the backyard, or the water from Tuesday's flash flooding, or the water you drank while recovering from COVID. The water can be real or symbolic and whether or not you come by the church with water to share, send a note to Rev. Kim at kmason@firstuustlouis.org and tell her where your water came and/or why it's meaningful to you. Please send submissions by Wednesday, September 9th.
