The Power of Forgiveness
Our featured film for Friday, March 28th, will be The Power of Forgiveness.
Filmmaker Martin Doblmeier explores the spiritual, physical, and psychological benefits of forgiveness and includes interviews with Elie Wiesel and Vietnamese Buddhist leader Thich Nhat Hanh. An Amish community rocked by a school shooting, survivors of 9/11, and victims of the violence in Northern Ireland all bear witness to the role of forgiveness in response to tragedy and anger in their lives.
Popcorn and refreshments will be served, and a lively discussion will follow the screening of the film. This event is open to all, but contact Scott Talbot Lewis if you have any questions ().
Today, filmmakers are taking themes of social justice as the subjects of their work. Whether it is a documentary or a dramatization of real events, movies allow us to grasp the depth and humanity of many contemporary issues. Movies help us understand the feelings at the heart of these true stories.
