Register by sending your payment to our church office along with a note specifying the event for which you are registering, the number of individuals for whom payment is being made, and your contact information (phone number and e-mail). All fees benefit the church. Payment is requested a minimum of two weeks prior to the event or events are subject to cancellation. E-mail or call our church office for more information. Saturday, February 20, 2010, 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m., Clark Room: Qigong for a Peaceful Mind & Healthy Body—Experience an introductory session of Qigong, an ancient Chinese system at cultivating vital life energy (Qi) to enable the mind, body & spirit to be in harmony and balance. Sue A., your instructor, studied Qigong in China and teaches at the Wellness Community center. Wear comfortable clothes and enjoy! Friday, March 26, 2010, 7:30 p.m., Clark Room: Italian Wine Class—Wine Educator Mike W., Certified Sommelier, Certified Educator of Wine (CEW), Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW), and Certified Specialist of Spirits (CSS) will conduct this tasty and informative seminar on the wines of Italy. Learn about the history of Italian wines and savor eight unique Italian wines. Light appetizers will be provided. Saturday, April 10, 2010: Walking Tour of Downtown—An 1.5-hour tour starting at the exhibit space at Landmark's office on 911 Washington Avenue and ending at City Garden where drinks or lunch are on your own. Sunday, April 11, 2010: Understanding Families and Organizations Workshop—An introduction to the Bowen Family Systems Theory, which examines relationship patterns in families and the workplace and provides a context to help us make our own behavior choices. TBA: After March 31, 2010: Bike Ride to Venice, Illinois—Bring friends and family on a bike ride to Venice, Illinois and back on a Saturday morning in Spring. We will meet at the church, travel with your bikes downtown by Metro to the Stadium, work our way north from the Arch on riverfront trail and to the refurbished McKinley Bridge with its new bike path. Enjoy a free lunch at a north side or downtown cafe, then return to the church either via the Metro from downtown or by bike for those who want to ride a little farther. Among other things we will try to better understand what developer Paul McKee is trying to accomplish. The ride will be appropriate for both adults and children with reasonable riding skills. TBA: After March 31, 2010, Affton Carpentry School: Parent & Child "Build a Stepstool" Workshop—With Lynda & Bill D.'s supervision, parents & children will learn basic carpentry skills while they build a stepstool to take home and decorate. All supplies and tools are included. Saturday, May 1, 2010, 6 p.m.-9 p.m.: Parkview Progressive Dinner— Enjoy a full course dinner, drinks, and delightful company at the lovely homes of your hosts. Sunday, June 6, 2010: Architectural Tour of St. Louis—Architectural tour of the city, Bellefontaine Cemetery of the Churches, and a visit to Crown Candy for all the ice cream you can handle. Sunday, August 22, 2010: Summer Pool & BBQ Party—Party for up to 100. Your hosts provide the music, pool, BBQ, and drinks. You provide an appetizer, salad, or dessert. Everyone enjoys the result!
